The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) admission process is a two-stage process:

1. Stage 1: TISS National Entrance Test (TISSNET)

All candidates who wish to apply to TISS must take the TISSNET, which is a computer-based entrance exam. The TISSNET covers a variety of topics, including general knowledge, quantitative aptitude, verbal ability, and logical reasoning.

The TISSNET is held once a year in the month of January. The TISSNET score is used to shortlist candidates for the next stage of the admission process.

2. Stage 2: Personal Interview (PI)

Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. The PI will be conducted by a panel of faculty members from the TISS department or school that offers the desired program.

The PI is designed to assess the candidate’s suitability for the program and their potential to contribute to the TISS community.

Selection for admission to TISS is based on the candidate’s performance in the TISSNET, PI, and academic qualifications.
